Meet Tallow Nation

Proudly Australian-owned and operated, Tallow Nation is a boutique brand based in the Camden region of NSW, crafting premium handcrafted products centred around the traditional goodness of grass-fed beef tallow.

Every product is handcrafted in small batches using locally sourced Australian ingredients, including traditionally rendered tallow and carefully selected, high-quality botanicals and oils. We believe in simple, effective formulations with a minimal number of ingredients, prioritising organic sourcing wherever possible.

As a byproduct of the meat industry, beef tallow offers an eco-friendly and sustainable foundation for our range.

Put the Good Fat on Your Face.

Tallow isn't just for the frying pan. Tallow or petroleum? Both can look oily. They're not remotely the same. Tallow is a naturally occurring animal fat, rich in skin-compatible fatty acids that help nourish, soften and condition the skin while supporting its natural barrier. Petrolatum is a petroleum-derived hydrocarbon that primarily acts as an occlusive barrier. When it comes to what goes on our skin, we'll take the good fat.

Vanilla. The Real Deal.

Why use synthetic fragrance when you can use the real thing? We infuse organic Tahitian vanilla beans into our tallow to give our balms, soaps and lip balms their naturally warm, sweet aroma. No “vanilla fragrance.” No laboratory imitation. Just the real bean, thoughtfully infused. Because if it says vanilla, we think it should actually contain vanilla.

Beeswax. Straight from the Hive.

Why beeswax? Because sometimes nature makes the best texture. We use pure beeswax in our lip balms, salves and tallow candles for a reason. It adds structure and staying power to our balms and salves, while giving our candles a clean, slow-burning wax base. Naturally rich in its own protective properties, beeswax helps create a smooth, satisfying finish—without synthetic hardeners or unnecessary fillers. Made by bees. Bee-cause nature knows best.

Meet the Woman Behind Tallow Nation

It all started with a rabbit hole… I began researching how seed oils are extracted and processed, which led me to replace them in my kitchen with traditional tallow. Then came the deeper dive into tallow. Before long, I was making soaps, candles, balms and more. Then I started questioning synthetic fragrances, unnecessary fillers, endocrine-disrupting chemicals and, most of all, why the heck are we using petroleum-derived ingredients in skincare?! Somewhere along the way, that rabbit hole became Tallow Nation. I guess you could say I got right into the… fat of the matter.

Golden Jojoba. Oil-ish, But Not Quite.

One of our favourite skincare ingredients, and technically, it isn’t an oil at all. The Australian organic golden jojoba oil we use is a liquid wax ester, rich in vitamin E and structurally similar to the skin’s natural sebum. Lightweight and stable, it helps soften, smooth and condition the skin while providing moisture without a heavy or greasy feel. We use it in our Tallow Balms, Calendula Salve and Radiance Drops to add a silky, nourishing feel and create beautifully spreadable formulations. Simple, versatile and seriously good at its job - a true smooth operator.

Coconut Oil. Cracking Good Stuff.

We use coconut oil in our tallow soaps and lip balms for its rich, conditioning qualities. In soap, it helps create a creamy lather and gives the bar its cleansing power. In our lip balm, it helps create a smooth, silky glide while helping soften and condition dry lips. We’re a little coco-nuts about it.
